Cosmetic

You can look good and have a healthy smile. Most people who are unhappy with the appearance of their teeth do not realize the numerous ways cosmetic dentistry can heal a smile. Cosmetic dentistry can correct crooked teeth, spaces between your teeth, stained or discolored teeth, chipped teeth, broken or missing teeth and having a “gummy” smile. Georgia dentist Angela Britt creates a customized treatment plan for you, based on your age and goals.

Porcelain Veneers

Imagine a whiter, more brilliant smile! Porcelain veneers are conservative cosmetic dentistry that makes a dramatic difference in the appearance of your teeth. If you have chipped teeth, crooked teeth, spaces between your teeth or dull or stained teeth, veneers may be the perfect solution for you. After minimal tooth preparation, Dr. Britt will skillfully bond and shape thin films of porcelain to your teeth, creating a straight, brilliant smile that enhances your appearance and your self esteem. You are only a couple of appointments away from having the smile you have always wanted! Teeth Whitening

Imagine removing surface stains and having the white smile you had when you were a teenager! Anyone can have the confidence that comes from having a bright, white smile. Teeth whitening with Zoom!™ is safe, effective and long lasting.

The Zoom!™ tooth whitening system is a powerful, in-office procedure that produces fast, dramatic results. A specialized gel will be applied to your teeth. During that time, a specialized light source interacts with the gel to break up even the strongest stains and discoloration. By the end of your appointment, you will have a smile that looks like it did years ago!

There is also a Zoom!™ take-home whitening kit available. This do-it-yourself process can be completed in a weekend, and while the results are not as dramatic as the in-office procedure, you will still see noticeable, fantastic results. Talk with Dr. Britt for help in deciding what whitening procedure is right for you.

Conscious Sedation

Imagine being able to accomplish all of your dental care in as little as one visit and in complete relaxation. This may be possible with Conscious Sedation Dentistry in Georgia. Many patients feel no discomfort during and after treatment. You, too, can feel relaxed and comfortable during your appointment.

Here's how it works. Prior to any treatments, the experienced team at Golden Isles Center for Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry reviews your medical history and explains how Conscious Sedation can work for you. On the day of your appointment, you will take a medication in pill-form. You will need to have a family member or friend bring you to the office. Once you are at the office, you will be monitored closely throughout your visit. Dr. Britt and her team will then perform the agreed upon treatment. After treatment, your friend or family member will be allowed to take you home to rest. It's that simple!

Ask us if you are a candidate for Conscious Sedation in Georgia and enjoy the benefits of a beautiful smile and good health!

Prepless Veneers

Prepless Veneers are similar to regular veneers, but require less preparation, or reduction, of the tooth. These contact lens-thin “smile shapers” are bonded (adhered) to the front surface of your teeth giving you a beautiful, bright and straight smile. In most cases, there are no injections and no drilling involved!

Implant Supported Crowns

A dental implant is one of the most permanent forms of restorative dentistry and can be used to restore a single tooth or several teeth. Dental implants involve the placement of a surgical grade titanium post by one of the doctor’s trusted specialists. As the bone bonds to the post, it forms a secure foundation for the attachment of a crown or a prosthetic tooth that is custom created for you. Implants are frequently used instead of bridges to maintain the integrity of the teeth on either side of the missing teeth.

Porcelain Bridges

Sometimes gum disease, injury, and decay or simply wear results in the loss of a tooth. A missing tooth or teeth can create significant problems for your dental health if not corrected. Over time your bite pressure may shift to other parts of your mouth to compensate for an inability to chew efficiently in the area of the missing tooth. Neighboring teeth may begin to move about, moving into the area and resulting in discomfort, pain and more problems down the road. Bridges made of porcelain “bridge the gap” in your smile. Dr. Britt can create a lifelike, functional bridge to correct your smile, restore your bite and alleviate your discomfort. A bridge is created out of metal, alloys and / or porcelain and utilizes the teeth on both sides of the gap as its supportive structure. After some preparation of the two neighboring teeth, crowns are created for them. A prosthetic tooth, or pontic, is fused between the crowns to fill the area of the missing tooth. A bridge is a semi-permanent dental restoration, meaning your dentist can only remove it, so you can rest assured that your porcelain bridge will be a lasting restoration for your oral health. Porcelain Crowns

Your teeth undergo a tremendous amount of stress during your lifetime. Teeth may show this wear in a variety of ways, including discoloration, chipping and cracking. Crowns restore your teeth and smile to look brilliant once again. Porcelain crowns can be shaded to match your teeth. After some tooth preparation, crowns are specifically fitted to restore functionality and enhance the appearance of your smile. If you have discomfort when chewing or temperature sensitivity, ask Dr. Britt if crowns are for you.

Tooth Colored Fillings

If you are embarrassed about your smile because of decayed, disfigured or discolored teeth, you may be a good candidate for composite resins. A composite resin is a silicon dioxide-filled tooth-colored material mixture that can restore teeth to an attractive, healthy state. Composite resins present several advantages to the patient compared with traditional silver fillings. First, your dentist is able to blend composite shades and shapes so as to match the original teeth nearly perfectly. Second, the tooth-composite bond actually serves to support the remaining tooth structure, preventing breakage and providing insulation against temperature changes.

Bonding

Bonding refers to the placement of tooth-colored resin to correct chipped and broken teeth, discolored teeth and in some cases, space between teeth. Bonding is generally considered more conservative than veneers or other cosmetic dentistry. The benefits of bonding include the ability to maintain the natural structure of the tooth and the ability to color and sculpt the resin to create natural looking teeth. Like a natural tooth, the resin may stain with the use of coffee or other staining foods.

Invisalign™

You can straighten your teeth without metal braces. Invisalign™ is an FDA approved system that uses clear, removable aligners to incrementally straighten your teeth. There are no uncomfortable brackets or wires, and because you remove the aligners to eat and drink, there are no food restrictions or problems with brushing or flossing.

Invisalign™ uses 3D computer imaging to map out your entire treatment plan in advance, allowing you to see what your teeth will look like before you begin treatment. Then, using the imaging, a series of custom aligners are created that will move teeth incrementally. You will replace each aligner every two weeks with the next aligner in the sequence. Average treatment time from initial teeth position to brilliant, straight smile ranges from 3 to 15 months. The best part is, most people will never notice that you are undergoing treatment!
